A BILL to amend article one, chapter sixteen of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
by adding thereto a new section, designated section
twenty-two, relating to sanitarian employees of the division
of health; providing for a twenty-five percent across the
board salary increase; and providing for an annual cost of
living increase.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article one, chapter sixteen of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
twenty-two, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. DIVISION OF HEALTH.
§16-1-22. Sanitarians salaries.
On the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred
ninety-nine, any sanitarian, as defined in section two, article
seventeen, chapter thirty of this code, who is employed by the
division of health shall receive a salary increase in an amount
equal to twenty-five percent of his or her salary on that date.
Thereafter each sanitarian shall receive an annual cost of living
salary increase in an amount equal to the annual rate of
inflation as calculated by the West Virginia division of labor.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is provide for a 25% across
the board salary increase for sanitarian employees of the
division of health to bring their salaries into parity with
county sanitarian employee salaries, and to additionally provide
for an annual cost of living salary increase.
